VSim particle-in-cell simulations were instrumental for investigating an efficient dielectric laser-driven accelerating structure, based on dual-gratings with a Bragg reflector. Acceleration of a beam of electrons in a dielectric laser-driven accelerator with gradients over 100MV/m opens the way to particle acceleration "on a chip" that is able to obtain similar levels of acceleration cheaper than RF based accelerators.
